The Leela Kempinski Gurgaon, Delhi (NCR) opens

The Leela Palaces, Hotels & Resorts announced the soft opening of its first property in northern India: The Leela Kempinski Gurgaon, Delhi (N.C.R.). Located just a short drive from the Indira Ghandi International Airport, the hotel and residences will provide more than 320 luxury guestrooms and suites. There will also be 90 one-, two- and three-bedroom residences, making it the only property in the region with a full spectrum of accommodation solutions.

The Leela Kempinski Gurgaon, Delhi (N.C.R.) is the first Leela property in northern India, and the first managed property for the Group.

Commenting on the opening, Captain Nair, Chairman, said: “Opening the first Leela hotel in northern India is a momentous occasion for us. Our management alliance with Ambience Group has been an important factor in The Leela’s expansion plan. Guests and patrons at the new property will experience the same distinguished hospitality as at our other hotels.”

Raj Singh Gehlot, Chairman of Ambience Group, also said: “We are delighted to join with The Leela to bring the experience of the foremost Indian chain to the city of Gurgaon. This hotel is amongst several key luxury projects at Ambience Island, and is an integral part of the mixed-use complex which qualifies the Island as a luxury destination for residents, visitors and guests.”

The guestrooms at The Leela Kempinski Gurgaon, Delhi (N.C.R.) combine space, beauty and modern technology. The rooms feature a full range of amenities and facilities including Wi-Fi connectivity, IP phones, LCD televisions with BlueRay players, iPod docks, electronic safes and ergonomic mattresses. The two Royal Club floors offer guests personalised and complimentary services and access to the Royal Club Lounge facilities, and there is also a selection of contemporary Indian artwork in the hotel.

Dining options at the hotel include Spectra, a 240-capacity ‘seven live kitchen dining concept’ restaurant; Diya, a 116-capacity Indian restaurant; Zanotta, an 80-capacity Italian restaurant; as well as an eclectic bar.

The hotel boasts an outdoor heated swimming pool with spectacular views, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, yoga and aerobic studios and a full-service beauty salon. There is also Lavanya, a 20,000 sq ft day spa offering both international and Ayurvedic treatments.

The hotel also offers the largest banqueting facilities in the region with over 27,000 sq ft of function space including ballrooms, board rooms and meeting rooms as well as a full-service business centre.
