The 4th edition of the Masala Wedding Fair will be held June 13-14, 2015

This year’s wedding fair, to be held over the weekend of June 13th to 14th at Bangkok’s popular downtown InterContinental Hotel, will showcase close to 100 exhibitors and is expected to welcome approximately 3,000 visitors.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Indian wedding industry in Thailand has grown rapidly over the past few years. Thailand has witnessed an exponential growth in the number of Indian weddings taking place within the kingdom, with couples and families arriving not only from India, but from other countries with large Indian populations, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, The UK, Canada and the USA.

This year the Masala Wedding Fair, now in it’s 4th edition, will be inaugurated by H. E. Mr. Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Ambassador of India to Thailand, Mr. Thomas Schmelter, General Manager of the InterContinental Hotel Bangkok, and Mr. Pongsathorn Kessasamli, Deputy Governor for the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). The event will be held June 13-14, 2015, in the Grand Ballroom of the InterContinental Hotel Bangkok.

Indian weddings in Thailand
Until recently the misconception held by many families coming to get married in Thailand was that container loads of equipment, armies of cooks, and any number of assorted helping hands would have to be brought along as well – all of which would drive up the cost of their destination wedding. But this misconception has been changing over the past few years, and the annual Masala Indian Wedding Fair, now in its 4th edition, has been instrumental in altering those preconceived notions.

By showcasing the fact that everything needed to successfully manage a large scale Indian wedding can be found right here in Thailand, and assembling it all under one roof, the annual Masala Indian Wedding Fair has become a convenient one-stop sourcing experience for both families planning destination weddings and wedding planners alike. From selecting the right property in the destination of choice, or contacting outside catering services, to finding the right photographers, make-up artists, light and sound crews, transportation services, or even liquor suppliers – it can all be accomplished during the annual Masala Wedding Fair.
