Local Alike, a sustainable tourism startup from Thailand is 1 of 10 finalists in Booking Booster.com Programheld in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Local Alike has been granted 300,000 euro or 11.4 million baht to support their sustainable tourism business.
Booking.com held a program called Booking.com Booster in Amsterdam, the Netherlands on June, 22. In the first round, there were 700 teams from all over the world.
Local Alike was the only Thai startup focusing on sustainable tourism that won 300,000 euro or 11.4 million baht. The fund would be used to support and strengthen Local Alike’s business models so that the company could reach their goal which is creating sustainable tourism in Thailand. As for the winner of the panel, Backstreet Academy from Singapore has won 400,000 or 15.2 million baht.
During 3 weeks in Amsterdam, Mr. Somsak Boonkham, CEO and founder, and Ms. Sirasa Boonma, Service Design Team, along with other participants have received a great opportunity to join exclusive workshops from skillful experts.

We all believe in sustainable tourism and will do our best to make it happen. What I have learnt in 3 weeks meant a lot. Local Alike will definitely continue what we have been doing so far. We will prove to everyone that sustainable tourism is possible,” Mr. Somsak said.
