THAI increases flights and adjusts flight schedule during Loy Kratong or Floating Lantern Festival

Flight Lieutenant Pratana Patanasiri, THAI Vice President, Aviation Safety, Security & Standards Department, said that every year during Loy Kratong Festival, many provinces in Northern Thailand release floating lanterns which affect flight safety.  In order to maintain maximum flight safety, THAI has adjusted its flight schedule and cancelled some flights during 12-16 November 2016.

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) announced an increase in flights and flight schedule adjustment as well as cancellation of some flights in Northern Thailand during 12-16 November 2016 due to Loy Kratong and Floating Lantern Festival, in order to maintain maximum flight safety standards.
 
Flight Lieutenant Pratana Patanasiri, THAI Vice President, Aviation Safety, Security & Standards Department, said that every year during Loy Kratong Festival, many provinces in Northern Thailand release floating lanterns which affect flight safety. In order to maintain maximum flight safety, THAI has adjusted its flight schedule and cancelled some flights during 12-16 November 2016.
 
1. Cancel roundtrip flights from Bangkok-Chiang Mai during 14-15 November 2016 as follows:
  • 1.1 Flight TG120 from Bangkok-Chiang Mai during 14-15 November 2016
  • 1.2 Flight TG121 from Chiang Mai-Bangkok during 14-15 November 2016
 
2. Flight schedule adjustment during 13-15 November 2016 as follows:
  • 2.1 Flight TG116 on 13 November 2016 normally departs from Bangkok at 17.20 hours and arrives in Chiang Mai at 18.30 hours is changed to depart from Bangkok at 15.20 hours and arrives in Chiang Mai at 16.30 hours.
  • 2.2 Flight TG117 on 13 November 2016 normally departs from Chiang Mai at 19.20 hours and arrives in Bangkok at 20.30 hours is changed to depart from Chiang Mai at 17.20 hours and arrive in Bangkok at 18.30 hours.
  • 2.3 Flight TG120 on 13 November 2016 normally departs from Bangkok at 18.40 hours and arrives in Chiang Mai at 20.00 hours is changed to depart from Bangkok at 15.50 hours and arrive in Chiang Mai at 17.10 hours.
  • 2.4 Flight TG121 on 13 November 2016 normally departs from Chiang Mai at 20.50 hours and arrives in Bangkok at 22.10 hours is changed to depart from Chiang Mai at 17.50 hours and arrive in Bangkok at 19.00 hours.
  • 2.5 Flight TG103 on 14 November 2016 normally departs from Chiang Mai at 10.05 hours and arrives in Bangkok at 11.25 hours is changed to depart from Chiang Mai at 09.55 hours and arrive in Bangkok at 11.15 hours.
  • 2.6 Flight TG105 on 14 November 2016 normally departs from Chiang Mai at 10.40 hours and arrives in Bangkok at 11.50 hours is changed to depart from Chiang Mai at 12.05 hours and arrive in Bangkok at 13.15 hours.
  • 2.7 Flight TG116 on 14-15 November 2016 normally departs from Bangkok at 17.20 hours and arrives in Chiang Mai at 18.30 hours is changed to depart from Bangkok at 15.50 hours and arrive in Chiang Mai at 17.00 hours.
  • 2.8 Flight TG117 on 14-15 November 2016 normally departs from Chiang Mai at 19.20 hours and arrives in Bangkok at 20.30 hours is changed to depart from Chiang Mai at 17.50 hours and arrive in Bangkok at 19.00 hours.
 
3. Flights have been increased to meet demands of passengers during Loy Kratong Festival during 12-16 November 2016 as follows:
  • 3.1 Flight TG8718 on 12-16 November 2016 departs from Bangkok at 11.05 hours and arrives in Chiang Mai at 12.15 hours.
  • 3.2 Flight TG8719 on 12-16 November 2016 departs from Chiang Mai at 13.15 hours and arrives in Bangkok at 14.25 hours.
  • 3.3 Flight TG8716 on 15 November 2016 departs from Bangkok at 09.10 hours and arrives in Chiang Mai at 10.20 hours.
  • 3.4 Flight TG8717 on 15 November 2016 departs from Chiang Mai at 11.35 hours and arrives in Bangkok at 12.45 hours.
