Thai celebrity and Airbnb co-Host Patricia Tanchanok Good launches Airbnb’s first-ever celebrity Host Guide to Phuket

From Phuket’s historic old town, stunning beaches and nature, to the best food stops and coolest places to see (and be seen), Patricia shares her Phuket faves as inspiration for your next trip to Phuket.

Bangkok, Thailand – Phuket-born Thai celebrity and Airbnb co-Host of the Governor’s Mansion this Songkran, Patricia Tanchanok Good invites people to visit Phuket this summer and shares her local insights and island tips in a unique Airbnb Host Guide.

Following Thailand’s easing of entry rules and Phuket province dropping all testing for vaccinated travellers, there’s no better time to visit and Airbnb’s latest data shows that Phuket is the #1 most searched destination in Thailand by Airbnb travellers from overseas, and the second most searched domestic destination by Thai travellers on Airbnb so far this year.*

Looking to get off the beaten path and explore lesser-known places, Airbnb guests value local knowledge and insights, and creating a Host Guidebook is a popular way for Hosts to introduce their neighbourhood. From tips about must-see sights and hidden sois to under-the-radar food stops and so much more, Host Guides help to make travel more meaningful and memorable.

Explore the Island

Located adjacent to each other, Bang Tao and Layan are two of Patricia’s favourite beaches as the long, spacious stretches of uninterrupted beach are far from the madding crowd. There’s plenty of space to find a quiet spot with your loved ones and relax the afternoon away.

If you’re keen to see another side of Phuket and absorb the local culture, she recommends heading inland and explore Phuket’s Old Town. It’s full of surprises, hidden sois and little known local spots that are well worth checking out and the Phuket weekend market is the place to go for live music and street food.

She urges travellers to find time to explore the island’s unique history at Wat Phra Thong, one of the island’s oldest temples at 200+ years and a unique part of Phuket history, and Phuket’s underrated nature spots like Bang Pae Waterfall. Her favourite hidden gem? One of Airbnb’s most highly rated Airbnb Experiences in Phuket at the Gibbon Rehabilitation Project. The first of its kind in the world, the project is incredibly inspiring and you can observe and learn about gibbon behaviour, while also supporting ongoing research and rehabilitation efforts.

Must-Try Food Spots

Phuket is blessed with an incredible variety of delicious food options and as a foodie, Patricia shares some of her favourite places to eat and snack on the island. Luxe resort offerings such as Arva at Amanpuri are complemented by local seafood restaurant KanEang@pier and the popular Jadjan by Ko Dang which is run by a super friendly ex-5 star restaurant chef who whips up delicious and affordable street food!

If you want an amazing beach bar, then try Patricia’s go-to Cafe del Mar which offers great music, food and drinks, your own private beach, plus live entertainment. Alternatively, satisfy your sweet cravings with local Thai flavoured ice cream at Tory’s Ice Cream and burnt butter toast at Phuketique.

Take inspiration from Patricia’s Host Guide and plan for a memorable experience in Phuket this summer!
