Thai Airways International is to reduce the flight frequency between Bangkok and Los Angeles from 7 to 4 flights per week and will increase 3 additional flights per week between Bangkok and Tokyo, effective 28 March 2004 onwards.

Mr. Kanok Abhiradee, THAI`s President, said that based on the company`s policy to reduce traffic on non-profitable routes, increasing flights on profitable routes and due to traffic demand, THAI decided to reduce flight operations between Bangkok and Los Angeles from daily flights to four flights per week via Osaka, Japan, utilizing B747-400 aircraft.

The Flight reductions are expected to help THAI save some 600 million Baht annually and maximize aircraft utilization. The flight adjustment will also generate profit of approximately 1 billion Baht annually.

THAI will also increase flight operations between Bangkok and Tokyo from 18 flights per week to 21 flights per week, which will mean 3 flights daily, utilizing B 747-400, B777-300, and B777-200 aircraft.
