tangerine wins Good Design Award for Virgin Australia’s ‘The Business’ cabin

Following a widely acclaimed launch, on May 16th, Virgin Australia’s new International Business Class cabin, designed by tangerine, has won a coveted Good Design Award 2016.

 

“It’s ‘The Business!’” says Virgin Australia’s CEO, John Borghetti, of tangerine’s design of the airline’s new business class offer. The sophisticated new cabin suites have set a new standard for the industry around the world.

 

Awarded in the highly contested Automotive and Transport category, competing against some of the world’s biggest brands, Virgin Australia Business Class was just 1 of 5 winners who received the Good Design Award distinction. The design of Virgin Australia’s Business Class cabin transforms customer experience, helping the airline to re-position its service as a premium carrier and lead in the markets it operates.

 

 

“Virgin has achieved arguably one of the most successful airline repositionings in recent times, in record time delivering a coherent new brand to the market with a clear value proposition.”  CAPA – Centre for Aviation (report 17.2.16).

 

The Good Design Award follows success at the Red Dot Awards 2016 and the “Aircraft Cabin Oscars”, The Crystal Cabin Awards, where the project was a finalist for Best Cabin Concept.
