Swiss International Hotels (China) Group strengthens business in Taiwan by signing franchise agreement with YOKO International

The agreement is part of the companies' shared strategy to build a solid presence in the Taiwan hospitality market that is strategically located across the straits from Fujian Province in the south of China.

XIAMEN, China and TAIPEI – Swiss International Hotels (China) Group announced it has signed a Franchise Agreement with YOKO International Corporation of Taipei on September 10, 2015, to develop their business in the Taiwan region. The agreement is part of the companies’ shared strategy to build a solid presence in the Taiwan hospitality market that is strategically located across the straits from Fujian Province in the south of China.

Swiss International Hotels (China) Group presently owns and operates two landmark hotels in Xiamen and Nanchang with further locations under development in Shanghai, Beijing, Guiyang, Kunming, Hangzhou and Wuyishan.

YOKO International Corporation is a public listed company in Taiwan and is active in various businesses, such as high tech products, surveillance facilities, commercial hotels and overseas E-commerce, and plans to operate 3-5 new hotels across Taiwan within the next five years, the first property being a 270 room hotel in the high-tech development zone of Hsinchu, west of Taipei, that is scheduled to open in 2017.

We have wanted to enter the hospitality market for some time now and are excited to be aligned with Swiss International Hotels (China) Group and its brands as a partner. We can benefit tremendously from their extensive experience and know-how,” said Mr. Chou Ming Qing, Chairman of YOKO International Corporation.

Swiss International offers an excellent choice of brands that suits the particular location and style of the hotel, be it the established ‘Swiss International Hotel‘ itself, or the new ‘Xence‘ (Experience the Senses) or ‘Alpine‘ (Natural Comfort – Contemporary Luxury) brands.

We are delighted to expand our brands into Taiwan,” said Benjamin Yan, Chairman of Swiss International Hotels (China) Group, which has been one of our priorities. “We are proud to be associated with YOKO and are confident that the hotels will fill some niches in this relatively mature hospitality market.
