Suntec Singapore Chef strikes gold at prestigious Food & Hotel Asia (FHA) Culinary Challenge 2016

Singapore – Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre (Suntec Singapore) is pleased to announce that its Junior Sous Chef Alan Zhang Haibo clinched a gold medal at the biennial FHA Culinary Challenge (FCC) 2016 held at the Singapore Expo on Tuesday, 12 April 2016.
 

Competing against other top competitors in the FCC Individual Challenge, Chef Alan ultimately won over the panel of internationally acclaimed chefs to emerge top with his winning dish in the Individual Neptune’s Catch category.
 

Open to all professional chefs, the FCC Individual Challenge offered 15 classes for individual chefs to compete in such as cake dressing, pastry showpieces, plated appetisers, Asian meals, tapas and more. In his winning category, Chef Alan and his fellow participants were challenged to prepare and present three portions of a western main course of fish and/or seafood within a one-hour time limit.
 

Held alongside the premier food and hospitality tradeshow Food & Hotel Asia (FHA), the FCC is widely recognised as the region’s most prestigious international culinary competition where hundreds of budding talents around the world pit their culinary skills against one another in front of esteemed judges.
