NEW YORK – Soneva, the award-winning luxury eco-resort operator in the Maldives and Thailand, has surpassed one million followers on Instagram, it announced. Launched in March 2015 on the photo-sharing social media platform, the @discoversoneva account now has one of the largest followings in the global hospitality and luxury sector.

Soneva’s curated feed shares captivating images and inspiring stories from its award-winning properties – Soneva Fushi and Soneva Jani resorts, along with the Soneva in Aqua yacht, in the Maldives, and Soneva Kiri resort in Thailand. Each post offers an insight into Soneva’s “Slow Life” ethos, from its exquisite island locations, surrounded by sparkling azure seas (and the preservation thereof), to its rare, one-of-a-kind experiences that invite guests to reconnect with the earth beneath their feet.

With more than 3,300 posts and 1,200 stories to date, @discoversoneva has received more than half a billion impressions, including 12 million profile visits, 550,000 website clicks, 200,000 comments and 6.3 million likes.

While our mantra at Soneva has always been ‘No News, No Shoes,’ Instagram has been a wonderful and creative way to share our Soneva story with followers all around the world,” says Sonu Shivdasani, CEO and Co-founder of Soneva. “As we surpass one million followers on the platform, we are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support and engagement of our digital community, and offer our heartfelt thanks to all of our hosts, guests, enthusiasts, ambassadors and followers for helping us achieve this great milestone.”
