The Great Singapore Sale is gearing up to be one of the biggest travel attractions in Asia this summer. Now in its 14th year, the event, which runs from May 25 through to July 22, has become one of Singapore’s signature events, drawing visitors from around the world, including a significant number from the Middle East.

Tourism chiefs are aiming to encourage more visitors from the region to visit Singapore during the summer to take part in major events like the Singapore sale. In May, Singapore Tourism Board will be promoting a range of special deals at the forthcoming Arabian Travel Market 2007 in Dubai and the Bahrain International Travel Exhibition in Manama.

“The annual Great Singapore Sale has become extremely popular with visitors, including those from the Middle East, who have been known to time their visit during the May to July period to take advantage of the great offers. This year’s Great Singapore Sale promises additional privileges and promotions specially created for visitors,” said Ke-Wei Peh, Area Director, Middle East and Africa, Singapore Tourism Board.

“We have seen a continuing upward trend in Middle East visitors to Singapore and we are confident of attracting even higher numbers this year. The Sale occurs at the peak of summer which is ideal for visitors from across the Middle East who can also benefit from Singapore’s extensive dining and lifestyle options including its many family-friendly attractions,” added Peh.
