Changi nets awards including World’s Best Airport and Best for Duty Free Shopping Changi Airport continues to top airport surveys worldwide, despite fierce regional and international competition. Changi has won 6 awards in September, 4 from Business Traveller magazines and 2 from the World Travel Awards.
For the 19th consecutive year, readers of Business Traveller (UK/Europe) voted Changi as the Best Airport in the World. Changi first won this award by the best-selling business travel magazine back in 1988. Readers of the UK and Europe edition also voted Changi as the Best Airport for Duty Free Shopping, beating last year’s winner, Dubai International Airport.
Separately, the Asia/Pacific edition of Business Traveller awarded Changi the Best Airport in the World and the Best Airport Duty-Free in the World for the 15th and 9th consecutive year respectively.
Changi Airport also nabbed the World Travel Awards for Asia’s Leading Airport and World’s Leading Airport. These awards are based on votes cast by travel agents and industry insiders around the world. This is the second time that Changi Airport has won the World’s Leading Airport award. Changi beat last year’s winners, Dubai International Airport and Hong Kong International Airport, for the World’s Leading Airport and Asia’s Leading Airport awards respectively.
