The main goal of 2016 Discover Seoul Event is to promote various tourist activities and the excellent natural environment and ecological status of Saetgang Ecological Park.
SEOUL, South Korea – Seoul government and Seoul Tourism Organization Co., Ltd. hosted “2016 Discover Seoul (Eco Walking Tour)” from 13:00 to 18:00 on October 2nd.
This festival was intended to allow people to enjoy the natural environment of Saetgang Ecological Park and tourist activities in Seoul, the walking tour starts from 63 building and passes through Saetgang Ecological Park; and its total distance is approximately 5 km to the final destination: Seoul Marina Club & Yacht.
All over the event sites, there were colorful activities: Saetgang AR activity, the chalk art activity, SNS event, Seoul photo exhibition, non-verbal performance zone, the fundraising walk event et cetera.
Saetgang AR activity is a program that the participants can collect animals and plants in Saetgang Ecological Park with an augmented-reality application, the participants can learn about the ecological status and the environment with the enjoyable activity. A giant chalkboard is prepared for the chalk art activity, named “Create our Saetgang” so that the participants freely draw the pictures; and they can enjoy the event by naming their pictures and taking a photo of them.
At the non-verbal performance zone, ”NANTA” “KOONG” and “Drawing Show” took place. There is also an event for international tourists to win the prize by taking a picture with symbolic sculpture of Seoul’s brand name ‘I SEOUL U’ and sharing it on their SNS accounts.
The charming point of 2016 Discover Seoul is that those who complete the full course of Eco Walking Tour can donate the estimated steps. Considering the total number of the steps of the participants, trees are planted to create Discover Seoul Forest near the event site.
On top of those various events, there are various facilities and services such as free Wi-Fi zones, mobile charging service, free cookie and water.
