While attending the Cotabato Regional Athletic Association (CRAA) Meet, tourism officials from Philippines were inviting guests from other provinces to tour Sarangani. We will be offering tour packages to showcase Sarangani`s tourist spots, said trade and industry director Nanette Barroso, who is also director of Sarangani Tourism Investments Promotions Center.
Aside from Isla Parilla Resort in Alabel, other side-trips could be Gumasa and Taluya white-sand beaches in Glan, Tuka Marine Park in Kiamba, bat and pawikan sanctuaries and the water-tubing site in Maitum. Tourists can also visit the B`laan and Tagakaulo preserve in Lamlifew, Malungon and century-old houses of Glan.
Meanwhile, Barroso said sports tourism would be introduced in Sarangani during the 1st Sarangani Bay Festival next month. The festival will feature competitions in beach volleyball, beach football, skimboarding, kayaking, gamefishing, and lumba bugsay. Other events will be a triathlon and kite-flying contest. For businessmen, an aquaculture fair will be launched. The public is also invited to join the clean-up drive in Sarangani Bay.
Organizers said the festival would pay tribute and honor to Sarangani Bay and the people living in its shores.
