Safehotels Alliance certifies Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok as first hotel in Asia Pacific

As per July 2015, Safehotels Alliance also certified 163 hotels in 60 destinations in 33 countries, for Carlson Radisson and for 12 other hospitality brands.

Recently Safehotels Alliance awarded the Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok with their Premium level certification after the hotel completed the Safehotels official certification process and audits, having exceeded all evaluation criteria.

The Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok is the first hotel in Asia Pacific certified after Carlson Rezidor signed an agreement with globally recognized certification company Safehotels Alliance AB, making it the first major hotel group using the acclaimed certification program on a worldwide basis!

To attain Safehotels’ certification according to The Global Hotel Security Standard a hotel must demonstrate in concept and in practice a thorough commitment to safety and security to protect their guests, their associates and their assets.

As per July 2015, Safehotels Alliance also certified 163 hotels in 60 destinations in 33 countries, for Carlson Radisson and for 12 other hospitality brands.

Some of the reasons for conferring the Premium certification were:
1. Auditor assessment that the hotel’s documentation and record keeping are equal to the best Safehotels has seen anywhere in the world. For example, documents related to fire drills, first aid and indeed all matter pertaining to safety and security were deemed particularly outstanding.

2. Physical structures including overall building design as well as components such as control room / fire control panel, emergency response room and generator room were rated world class.

Peter Feran, General Manager of the Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok, is understandably delighted in the assessment. “It is a great honor to attain this type of certification. Our hotel is in a very busy downtown area, so we can never be too cautious. We take safety and security seriously and we’re especially pleased we’ve not just met requirements but far exceeded them.”

Bert van Walbeek,  Vice President of Safehotels Alliance AB said: “On being awarded Safehotels Alliance’s certification standards, it shows a hotel focuses on key elements of guest safety, personal property and the right response if there is an incident or any kind of emergency during a stay.”

“The certificate also shows the hotel is sincere and trustworthy in providing for the guest’s wellbeing. Equally, being independently audited and certified yearly by Safehotels, strengthens the communication value of security between the guest and hotel immensely” he concluded.
