Sabre Airline Solutions’ consulting business has followed its strong growth in 2005 by signing 15 contracts in the first quarter this year with airport operators around the world. The deals are with Macquarie Airports, Turin International Airport, Singapore Changi International Airport and 12 French and Swiss properties.

The contract with Macquarie involves market analysis solutions designed to assist air service development at Aeroporti di Roma, Brussels International Airport, Sydney International Airport and Copenhagen International Airport.

Hans Mitterlechner, associate director of Macquarie’s investment group, said: In its drive continually to improve airline marketing at its properties, Macquarie Airports has studied the market for airport-relevant market analysis solutions for over a year. We have concluded that Sabre`s market analysis and reporting capabilities represent the most comprehensive and user-friendly offer available.

Air service development is also the focus of the contract with Singapore Changi International Airport. Sabre Airline Solutions will be busy with airport consulting projects in Europe, too. It has finalised multi-year contracts to provide services to 12 French and Swiss airports, including Aeroportes de Paris, Bordeaux, Marseille and Geneva.

The consulting team has boosted its involvement in the government and administrative arena in 2006, with new projects already agreed for regional and federal government agencies in Canada, Finland, New Zealand and Australia.

Nejib Ben Khedher, president and managing partner of the aviation consulting practice at Sabre Airline Solutions, said the business expected the substantial 2005 client growth of its airport and government consulting practice to continue through 2006 and 2007.

“Given our unique combination of market evaluation capabilities, forecasting tools and services, and our overall air-service development experience, we are well positioned to become the premier aviation consulting services provider for airports,” Ben Khedher said.

The recent signings continue the momentum created in 2005, which saw Sabre’s airport and government consulting practice grow year-on-year revenues by over 20 percent, open its first international airport consulting office, and provide services to 65 domestic and international airport and government clients. More than 23 of the 65 clients served in 2005 were new customers, and ranged from regional airports such as Hull in Canada, Newcastle in the United Kingdom and Groeningen in The Netherlands, to global hubs such as Singapore Changi and Copenhagen International Airports.

“We have brought on board industry-experts renowned both in the US and internationally,” Ben Khedher said. “We have continued to invest in our forecasting and market analysis capabilities and have augmented our talent pool to provide the airport community with the highest quality commercial analysis services. We expect continued growth in 2006 through the continued expansion of the existing practice, the opening of new global offices, and through the development of new air service development solutions for the industry.”
