Ritz Tours invites travelers to witness unique Japanese traditions and way of life in the “Land of the Rising Sun,” with its eight-day Japan Experience program. The tour begins with several days in Tokyo, a distinctive metropolis that blends a state-of-the-art financial marketplace with a rich mix of the ultramodern and historical.

A half-day city tour brings travelers to the Imperial Palace with its photogenic Two-Tiered Bridge and picturesque backdrop, the Asakusa Kannon Temple, the Tokyo Tower featuring an elevator ride to the top for awesome views of the bustling city, and time in the Ginza district for shopping and exploring.

During a full day of leisure in Tokyo, travelers can discover the city’s abundant art and cultural offerings, commercial shopping districts, museums, galleries and religious sites. No trip to Tokyo would be complete without spending some time meandering through its beautiful gardens, parks and arboretums.

A motorcoach ride to see Mt. Fuji offers magnificent views of this cloud-shrouded peak that rises high into the sky. Then, it’s on to Lake Ashi for a delightful cruise followed by a night in Hakone, known as a weekend retreat for locals looking to pamper the soul and spirit with mineral baths.

The next day begins in Atami, meaning “hot sea,” one of Japan’s most popular seaside resort towns before boarding a train for Kyoto.

Kyoto, Japan’s sixth largest city, retains Japan’s cradle of culture with ornate temples and shrines, women wearing exquisite kimonos, and beautiful geishas, though the city has also experienced a strong modern industrial influence.

A sightseeing tour of Kyoto features visits to Kyomizu Temple, the Kinkakuji Temple and dramatic Heian Shrine. The tour concludes with a motorcoach ride to Osaka, where travelers board their homebound international flights.
