Rail+Metro China 2016 opens this June in Shanghai

Rail+Metro China 2016 is a well-established annual industry trade show and renowned conference event in China, offering an all encompassing showcase for technological innovation that covers every aspect of the rail supply market, including railway vehicles, subassemblies and components, power and traction systems, signal, communication, IT system, railway infrastructure, services, consulting and more.

SHANGHAI – The grand gathering of the rail transit industry, Rail+Metro China 2016, is to be held in the Shanghai New International Expo Center from June 14 to 16, 2016.
 
In recent years, the impressive development of China’s railway transit and urban mass transit industries have attracted worldwide attention. China is now the world’s largest railway market, and with the greatly improved capability of domestic equipment production and the ongoing implementation of the “One Belt, One Road” national strategy, Chinese companies’ export demand has never been greater. About 100 cities in China started their planning for future urban mass transit construction at the end of 2015.

Rail+Metro China 2016 is organized by the China International Engineering Corporation and Intex Shanghai Co., Ltd. With its 14-years history, Rail+Metro China 2016 attracts in excess of 200 exhibitors from over 50 cities spanning 15 countries and regions, with more than 20,000 visitors expected to attend the show in 2016.
 
China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) will be a focus during Rail+Metro China 2016. Headquartered in Beijing, CRRC has 46 wholly-owned and majority-owned subsidiaries and more than 170,000 employees. It inherited all the business and assets of China CNR Corporation Limited and CSR Corporation Limited, and is the world’s largest supplier of rail transit equipment with the most complete product lines and leading technologies.
 
At CRRC’s booth the first modern tram vehicle for Shanghai will be unveiled. The technical standard of this “silkworm tram” is playing a leading role in national tram design.
 
In all there will be seven high-quality conferences during the 3-day event. The themes this year will cover “Railway Globalization Cooperation,” “Planning & Design,” “Construction & Operation” and “Engineering & Technology.
