Pegasus Lodges launches eco-luxury Surf Lodge in Samoa

The small-format lodge offers surfers and non-surfers alike an unparalleled experience, while preserving the natural and cultural integrity of one of the last untrodden surf wonderlands on the planet.

TORQUAY, AUSTRALIA and SAN FRANCISCO – Pegasus Lodges, owners of the legendary Telo Island Lodge in North Sumatra, Indonesia, welcomes Aganoa Lodge Samoa into its growing portfolio of exclusive surf lodge destinations. Pegasus comes to Aganoa through a partnership with Keith and Lanuola Martin, who have proudly owned and managed the operation for more than a decade.

The small-format lodge offers surfers and non-surfers alike an unparalleled experience, while preserving the natural and cultural integrity of one of the last untrodden surf wonderlands on the planet. Transformed from a rustic beach camp, to eight, newly-renovated, open-air bungalows (“fales” in the local dialect) at the water’s edge, the lodge provides a whole new, highly-choreographed personal experience at a one-of-a-kind location.

Picture a place that time forgot; a place where the crowds haven’t yet reached; where local children play in a pristine lagoon lapping at golden sands just inside of an empty, funneling righthander. On the lesser-known island of Savai’i in the Independent State of Samoa (formerly Western Samoa), a road leads to a lost corner of the Earth called Aganoa. Here, lies a paradise: A year-round, world-class reefbreak peeling into a channel just 50 yards in front of a restaurant perched at the sea.

Aganoa will focus on providing exactly what we do at the Telo Island Lodge: highly attentive service, a small-format offering (eight surfers max), seamless logistics, excellent food and uncrowded, consistent surf that fits all ability levels.

Aganoa Lodge Samoa is only a five hour-flight from both Australia and Hawaii. This secret corner of the Earth awaits discerning explorers seeking something memorable and authentic for couples, families, and surfers alike.
