Passengers worldwide can connect via nonstop daily charter flights

EVA Air initiated daily charter service to Mainland China and added Hangzhou and Shenzen to an existing network that includes Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai. The new service began on 15 Dec., 2008. EVA serves its newest destinations by flying nonstop from Taoyuan International Airport to Hangzhou and from Taipei’s close-in Sung Shan International Airport to Shenzhen. Passengers can book EVA’s charter flights to Mainland China just as easily as they can travel to destinations in the airline’s regularly scheduled worldwide network – online at www.evaair.com, through one of the airline’s ticket offices or with a travel agent.

Government, trade and airline officials celebrated addition of the two gateways and the start of daily charter service in separate launch ceremonies at Taoyuan and Sung Shan airports. Previously, EVA flights to Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou were restricted to weekends.

On the Taoyuan – Hangzhou route, EVA is using freshly upgraded Boeing 747-400s configured to comfortably seat 36 passengers in Premium Laurel business class and 336 in Economy. On Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, EVA flight BR1758 leaves Taoyuan at 16:25 (4:25 p.m.) and arrives in Hangzhou at 18:05 (6:05 p.m.). Return flight BR1757 departs Hangzhou at 19:15 (7:15 p.m.) and arrives back at Taoyuan at 21:05 (9:05 p.m.) on the same day. One-way flight time is approximately an hour and 40 minutes.

EVA is operating a McDonnell Douglas MD-90 with 12 Business and 140 Economy Class seats between Sung Shan and Shenzhen. On Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, EVA BR1791 departs Sung Shan at 10:40 (10:40 a.m.) and arrives in Shenzhen at 12:30 (12:30 p.m.). Return flight BR1792 departs Shenzhen at 13:40 (1:40 p.m.) and lands back at Sung Shan at 15:20 (3:20 p.m.). Flight time each way is approximately an hour and 50 minutes.

EVA’s schedules for its service to Mainland China, including both its daily charter flights to Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Shanghai and Shenzhen and its regularly scheduled flights to Hong Kong and Macau, are designed to help business and leisure travelers make the best use of time in the region. North American and European executives with tight itineraries can stop in Taiwan to meet at corporate headquarters with top management of electronics, technology and other companies before traveling on to visit manufacturing facilities in Mainland China. Leisure travelers can explore the unsurpassed collection of Asian and Chinese treasures at Taipei’s famed National Palace Museum, tour bustling cities and scenic natural landscapes, meet some of the world’s friendliest and most highly educated people, and taste foods repeatedly ranked among the best in Asia before embarking on an itinerary of similarities and striking differences in Mainland China.

EVA passengers to Mainland China can also plan itineraries to arrive in one city and depart from another. All of EVA’s charter flights to Mainland China, including those from Sung Shan Airport, can be booked as onward connections from any of EVA’s regularly scheduled service from Europe, North America, Oceania or Asia and Evergreen Club members earn mileage.
