Part of the missing Boeing 747-400 of Adam Air’s flight in New Year’s Eve was found in the open sea of Sulawesi Island in Indonesia. According to Eddy Suyanto, search mission coordinator in Makassar it is a part of aircraft’s tail. As the official announcements say the part has a serial number which matches to the missing aircraft.
The part had been found in West Sulawesi, near the Pare Pare city where the rescue teams had focused their search.
Furthermore, a police official said that the body of a woman was traced floating in the south side of Pare Pare’s port. Local radio stations have also reported that parts of the aircraft’s seats washed ashore.
As BBC reported, Mr. Suyanto said that it is not still clear if the aircraft had crashed down in the sea or had blown up in the air. Rescue teams and military forces are still searching for the other parts of the plane as well as passengers despite the bad weather conditions in the region.
