North Americans accounted for 40 percent of all Tahiti visitors worldwide in the first four months of the year.
Total North American paid land nights for January to April 2011 were up 40 percent with a total of 99,981 visitor nights which is an increase of 28,791 paid land nights over 2010.
Visitor arrivals from North America for the month of April alone were up 31 percent overall with 4,550 total visitors. Of those, 3,363 visitors were on a land-based itinerary, with 574 more land-based visitors in April 2011 compared to April 2010.
Easier to travel to than most imagine, Tahiti’s Faa’a International Airport is only an eight-hour flight from Los Angeles with daily nonstop flights. Tahiti is halfway between Los Angeles and Sydney, Australia, in the same time zone as Hawaii and on the same side of the International Date Line as North America.
