NewOpenWorld Corporation (NOWC), the licensing arm of the New7Wonders campaigns, announced its selection of ASTRA Platform Services (APS) affiliate Virtual-Planet to develop its global online and digital community platform. New7Wonders is the global voting campaign pioneer, primarily known via the campaign to elect the man-made Official New 7 Wonders of the World, in which more than 100 million votes were cast. In the current campaign to choose the Official New7Wonders of Nature, some 1 billion votes are forecast. According to the significant technical requirements, Virtual- Planet will build the appropriate online, mobile and digital platform for all types of voting campaigns, ranging from global themes, such as the New7Wonders, to user-generated causes as well as campaigns at local, national and international levels. The platform and its brand name will be launched on July 21, 2009.
