New flight routes available into Bhutan

Travel to Bhutan through Singapore and Mumbai launching September 1.

The Tourism Council of Bhutan (TCB) is pleased to announce that Drukair, the Royal Bhutan Airlines, will begin offering service into Paro International Airport in Bhutan via Singapore and Mumbai starting September 1, 2012. Bookings for these flights are open now at drukair.com.bt or through select tour operators.

“On behalf of the Tourism Council of Bhutan, we are thrilled to offer travelers these additional avenues through which they can visit our magnificent country,” said Mr. Kesang Wangdi, Director General, Tourism Council of Bhutan. “The new flight connections through Singapore and Mumbai will make travel into Bhutan easier, and we look forward to welcoming travelers from around the world to experience this exquisite and happy place.”

Flights to Bhutan are currently available from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and Thailand. Flights into Paro International Airport from Delhi and Kathmandu are particularly spectacular, with views of five of the world’s highest peaks visible. Traveling into Bhutan, you can view these stunning peaks optimally from a window seat on the left side of the plane, and on the right side of the plane when departing. Once you arrive at Paro International Airport, the superb experience has just begun; Wanderlust magazine readers recently awarded Bhutan’s airport the Top Worldwide Airport for 2012, as well as Bhutan as their Top Destination of 2012 after Japan.
