Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur introduces electric courtesy car for guests

Swift Limousine & Cab Sdn Bhd is providing a Nissan Leaf electric car with driver for the hotel’s courtesy car scheme. Running on clean electricity, the car is non-polluting.

HONG KONG – Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur is proud to be the first hotel in Malaysia to provide guests with an eco-friendly courtesy car that runs entirely on electricity.
 
Swift Limousine & Cab Sdn Bhd is providing a Nissan Leaf electric car with driver for the hotel’s courtesy car scheme. Running on clean electricity, the car is non-polluting.
 
Available exclusively for suite and club room guests, the courtesy car departs daily every two hours between 10am to 4pm, and operates on a first come first served basis. Destinations covered include Jalan Bukit Bintang, a popular shopping strip, Kuala Lumpur Tower, where guests can view the city centre from 421 metres above ground, and Central Market, a well-known heritage site and home to the Centre for Malaysian Culture, Heritage, Art & Craft.  The Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, a shopping mall situated in the heart of the Bukit Bintang district, is also covered.

In line with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s campaign, Doing More for a Sustainable Future, the hotel looks to minimize its environmental impact on the local community.
 
The hotel received the ASEAN Green Hotel Award 2014-2016 from the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia for its eco-friendly operations and energy conservation measures, in 2014. The award ceremony is held every two years to recognize tourism operators that adopt Green Hotel standards. The hotel received the ASEAN Green Hotel Award 2012 – 2014 and has been certified with having ISO 14001 Environmental Management standards since 2003.
