Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group brings legendary service and state-of-the-art facilities to Southern China with the opening of Mandarin Oriental, Guangzhou in 2012.

Selected by Forbes Travel Guide as one of “The 10 Most Anticipated Hotel Openings Of 2012”, the hotel Mandarin Oriental, Guangzhou which has 233 rooms and 30 suites and 24 serviced apartments is located above TaiKoo Hui. This is a prestigious 450,000 square metre, mixed-use development comprising luxury shopping, grade-A office space and an impressive cultural centre, which is set in Guangzhou’s Tianhe Central Business District, a new address in the heart of the Pearl River Delta.

Linked directly to TaiKoo Hui’s world-class shopping, office and entertainment venues, the hotel is also conveniently connected to Shipaiqiao Station, Line 3 of the city’s metro system, and is 5 minutes from Guangzhou East Railway Station, which speeds passengers via high-speed rail link to and from Hong Kong in approximately 2 hours, and to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport in just 45 minutes.

The hotel’s interior designer, Tony Chi &Associates, has fused traditional elements of the orient with the modern identity of today’s “new China”. As a designer with an intimate working knowledge of the service industry, Tony Chi & Associates were the perfect choice for this project, explains the hotel’s General Manager, Clemens Hoerth. The result is the creation of spaces that are contemporary, inviting and responsive.

Each of the 233 spacious guestrooms and 30 suites is luxuriously appointed, with rich fabrics, sleek wood finishes and warm muted tones, reflecting the Group’s distinctive elegance and style. The hotel’s standard guest rooms will be the largest in the city at 60 sqm and will be equipped with Mandarin Oriental’s sophisticated in-room entertainment systems and guest-intuitive technology. Spa-inspired bathrooms comprise separate “wet” & “dry” rooms, with circular bathtubs and rainforest spa showers. The Club Lounge will provide exclusive guest facilities, including private check-in, meeting rooms, breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails.

Five standout restaurants and cocktail venues include a chic signature fine dining grill restaurant, and a classic Cantonese restaurant, as well as the renowned Mandarin Cake Shop. An upscale cocktail lounge offers a glamorous meeting point for drinks, while the Lobby Lounge caters to more casual affairs.

The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Guangzhou offers city dwellers and visitors a rare opportunity for peace and tranquillity.
