HONG KONG – During WinterFest, the city embraces a festive spirit to rival Western capitals. WinterFest sees signature skyscrapers lit up in festive reds and greens, while mallsand shops are decked out in all their finery.

New to WinterFest for 2013 is the artistic Christmas centrepiece, WISH, which will be displayed in central Hong Kong. Depicting three dandelions losing their seeds in the wind, the WISH sculpture is a dramatic 15 metres high and changes colours to music in a specially choreographed seasonal installation.

Several Christmas-themed activities will take place at the city’s popular attractions including the ‘Twinkle Twinkle Wishing Star’ at The Peak and the annual Christmas street party in Lan Kwai Fong. The pre-holiday sales also make WinterFest one of the best times to visit Hong Kong for a shopping. The city’s glitzy shopping malls area adorned in plush and extravagant displays, highlights including The 1881 Heritage mall, which will transform its Grand Piazza into a Renaissance-inspired wonderland, and Times Square which will stage daily musical LED shows.
