Wynn Macau officially announced it will be the title sponsor of this year’s Macau International Fireworks Display Contest, an annual event that attracts international attention to Macau. The Wynn Macau – 18th Macau International Fireworks Display Contest is organized by Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) and will take place on five consecutive Saturdays from September 2 this year.

This strong demonstration of Wynn Macau`s support for the local community showcases the commitment the company has made to the city and its belief in Macau’s continuing strength as a leading leisure and entertainment destination.

The Wynn Macau – 18th Macau International Fireworks Display Contest will coincide with another important event for Wynn Macau, which is the grand opening of the preeminent resort scheduled on September 5 this year. Thereafter, every Saturday night from September 9 during the event, guests will be able to enjoy stunning views of the magnificent fireworks display from the sea-view rooms and suites of the newly opened Wynn Macau as well as selected dining locations within the resort.

The Macau International Fireworks Display Contest has been one of the most famous tourism events in Macau since its inauguration in 1989. The contest has taken on increasing importance with teams taking part from as far away as Europe and throughout Asia. The annual spectacle also attracts thousands of visitors to Macau during the contest period as the sky lights up in a stunning array of colors and light. This year, ten participating teams will demonstrate their expertise, bringing luminous magnificent displays over the Macau waterfront.

“Wynn Macau is delighted to demonstrate its support for such an important event to the local community. Since 1989, the festival has drawn thousands of spectators to Macau not only to enjoy the fireworks but to experience the city’s unique culture and heritage. I know this year will be no exception and we are proud to be part of an event that supports Macau`s tourism growth and enhances the city’s overall tourism experience,” commented by Mr. Grant R. Bowie, President and General Manager of Wynn Macau.
