Permanent service for families with children now available in Bangkok
Lufthansa Family Check-In counter is now available at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. This service was launched on 9 January on the occasion of Children’s Day celebration in Thailand and it is designed to make flying a memorable experience for children, right from the moment they arrive at the airport.
At the Family Check-In counter, children can climb a few steps so they can watch the check-in procedure, receive their boarding pass and also a special “Best Friend” boarding pass for their teddy or cuddly toy accompanying them on their flight. “Even prior to take off our young passengers should have a memorable experience with Lufthansa. We are therefore delighted that we are now also able to offer this new family-friendly service at Bangkok,” said Dirk Grossmann, Lufthansa General Manager Thailand and the Mekong Region. Other than the main Lufthansa hubs in Frankfurt and Munich, Bangkok is the very first airport in the Asia Pacific region that offers this unique service.
The Lufthansa Family Check-In counter can hardly be missed. Children and their parents are able to identify the Family Check-In area even from a distance with its distinct signage. As they make their way on a runway-like carpet towards the Family Check-in counter, they go through an arch and will be welcomed by the Lufthansa mascots Lu and Cosmo. At the desks, Lufthansa service staff then issue family members with their boarding passes and accommodate their seating requests and any special needs.
Lufthansa’s Family-Check-In service is just another great example of the airlines family and children orientation. Fancy kids menus, made from the freshest ingredients and presented in a child-friendly and appealingly colorful way, are served on board all flights. Kids and teens have the opportunity to join the free JetFriends club as part of the Miles&More frequent flyer programme. Next to earning award miles the club offers a glimpse into the world of aviation and behind the scenes at Lufthansa, as well as running regular competitions.
Children are an important customer group for Lufthansa. In the past year the crews welcomed more than 750,000 children and adolescents on board. Lufthansa shares many useful tips and tricks for flying with children at www.LH.com/Family. There you will also find even more information about the Lufthansa kids’ apps “Departure” and “Super JetFriends” as well as the JetFriends website.
