Lufthansa further increases capacity in Bangkok with Airbus A380 operation starting October 2017

Lufthansa will be operating daily an Airbus A380 between Bangkok and Frankfurt, replacing the existing Boeing 747-400 for the winter timetable.

Thailand has once again proven to be one of the most important growing markets within the Lufthansa Groupnetwork. As of 29 October 2017, Lufthansa will be operating daily an Airbus A380 between Bangkok and Frankfurt, replacing the existing Boeing 747-400 for the winter timetable. With this change of aircraft, there is an increase of more than 35% capacity from October 2017 to March 2018 on this route.

“Our customers will be thrilled to travel with us on the Airbus A380. It is comfortable, spacious and quiet, which makes it perfect for long-haul flights like services between Bangkok and Frankfurt,” said Mr. Dirk Grossmann, General Manager Passenger Sales Thailand and the Mekong Region for Lufthansa Group. He continued, “For customers who look for outstanding quality and impeccable service, our five-star, as awarded by Skytrax, First Class cabin is definitely the go-to choice. The air humidification system in our First Class cabin – first of its kind on a commercial aircraft – brings up the humidity level up to 25% to increase well-being of customers onboard. Also the lighting concept that adjusts according to time of the day, also contribute towards customers’ comfort.”

Lufthansa Airbus A380 carries 509 passengers in total and features First Class (8 seats), Business Class (78 seats), Premium Economy (52 seats) and Economy (371 seats). Since third quarter of 2015, Lufthansa is the only airline in the world that offers consistent products across all long-haul fleets in every travel class. In addition, the powerful FlyNet broadband internet service is also available onboard all long-haul flights.

Lufthansa Group Airlines (Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines and Eurowings) offer more than three flights a day, 24 flights a week from Thailand to Europe. And now with the increased capacity, there are more feeder opportunities for our partner airlines in the Mekong region and beyond connecting to Europe via the Lufthansa Group Airlines hubs.
