Lufthansa connects Bangkok and Munich daily starting summer 2019

In summer 2019, Lufthansa airlines launches a new daily long-haul service from Bangkok to Munich.

Starting 2 June 2019, Lufthansa enhances its presence in Thailand once more by introducing daily flights between Bangkok and its five-star hub in Munich. The new long-haul connection adds more than 2000 seats per week connecting the Thai capital and southern Germany.

I am very happy to bring another great news shortly after we have introduced Lufthansa’s flagship Airbus A380 to the market. With the right aircraft type and growing demand out of Thailand, adding Bangkok – Munich service definitely complements our existing Lufthansa Group schedules out of Thailand. We are now able to offer our customers another possibility to fly to Europe via the five-star Munich hub and thereby strengthen the connection between two vibrant and relevant cities. In total, Lufthansa Group has 31 weekly frequencies out of Thailand to Europe,” said Stefan Molnar, General Manager Sales Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines and the Mekong Region Lufthansa German Airlines.

Lufthansa has chosen the most modern long-haul aircraft Airbus A350 – 900 to service this route. Featuring 48 seats in Business Class, 21 in Premium Economy, and 224 in Economy class, the aircraft consumes 25% less fuel, 25% fewer emissions, and 50% less noise. Lufthansa is also the first airline worldwide to use a range of different settings for the on-board lighting on the A350 – 900 which are designed to fit with the day and night-time biorhythms of passengers. On the A350 – 900, 24 different lighting settings are available throughout the journey.

Additionally, the A350-900 the world’s best-performing and most fuel-efficient aircraft, it also offers a particularly pleasant cabin environment. Lufthansa received the German Design Prize for the A350’s Economy Class, winning the “German Design Award 2018” in the category “Excellent Product Design“. The jury found that a unique travel environment had been created. The A350-900’s Economy Class is furnished in various shades of blue and offers the customer additional comfort. The seats have new ergonomically-formed upholstery and more space for storing personal items. The A350 Economy Class was conceived by the design bureau PearsonLloyd.

Lufthansa Group continues to consistently optimize the management of its hubs in Munich, Frankfurt, Zürich and Vienna. The main focus is on the flexible multi-hub system: newly integrated processes mean that Lufthansa group is increasingly able to move fleets and traffic wherever the conditions are best for quality, growth and cost effectiveness.
