Singapore – Kung Teong Wah has been appointed as the new General Manager of Parkroyal on Beach Road. Bringing over 30 years of experience in Asia and Singapore’s hospitality scene, Teong Wah will oversee the running of the newly revitalised upscale hotel in the culturally rich precinct of Kampong Glam.
On top of the General Manager duties entailing managing the overall strategic business operations of the Hotel, Teong Wah looks forward to leading the team in achieving optimal commercial performance and maximising operational efficiencies through his vast experience in digital transformation.

Prior to joining Parkroyal on Beach Road, Teong Wah was a Cluster General Manager with Millennium Hotels and Resorts. His extensive experience in the hospitality industry also encompasses several roles within the IHG Hotels & Resorts Group in multiple geographies – China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia – across 23 years, where he eventually led Holiday Inn Resort Batam as its General Manager. A highly respected hotelier, Teong Wah has received many accolades throughout the course of his career – most recently, the Singapore Tourism Award for Outstanding Business Innovation (2022) for Copthorne King’s Hotel and a Medal of Commendation in the 2022 May Day Awards for his work to enhance employability.
Having nurtured a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences from an early age, Teong Wah started his career as a Chef; one of his first jobs was as a Junior Sous Chef at Raffles Hotel Singapore. Since then, he has paved a successful career in the hospitality industry and is well-versed in realities of daily operational requirements, as well as sales and marketing strategies.
Teong Wah also extends his passion for contributing to the workforce through his involvement as a Board Member of the e2i Employment & Employability Institute and Chairman of the Institute for Technical Education (ITE) Hospitality Advisory Board Committee.
