The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre team celebrate after winning the ‘Purpose Built Convention & Exhibition Centre Award For Excellence’ in the Business Events category at the inaugural rAWr (Recognising Award Winning Results) Awards 2013.
KUALA LUMPUR – The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre has notched another first by winning the ‘Purpose Built Convention & Exhibition Centre Award For Excellence’ in the Business Events category at the inaugural rAWr (Recognising Award Winning Results) Awards 2013.
The rAWr Awards is a collaboration between the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) and the Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (MACEOS) to recognise excellence, leadership, professional standards, innovation and best practices within the Meeting, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition (MICE) or business events industry.
Speaking on the Centre’s success at the rAWr Awards Night officiated by Minister of Tourism & Culture, YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Nazri bin Abdul Aziz, General Manager Datuk Peter Brokenshire conveyed the Centre’s delight at receiving the award. “We are honoured and elated to be on the winners’ list of the inaugural rAWr Awards”.
“This recognition by our peers is an acknowledgement of our contribution to the growth and development of the country’s business tourism sector and further boosts our position as one of Asia’s leading convention centres…a world-class facility offering innovative products and services to meet the evolving needs of local and international clients.”

The rAWr Awards covered 27 categories within the four main components of the MICE industry including Best International Conference, Best Trade Exhibition, Best Incentive Programme, Best Event and Best Environmental Initiative.
