JetLite, Jet Airways’ all-economy subsidiary carrier, added its extensive domestic network to Jet Airways’ global (domestic and international) route network, via code-share between the two carriers effective January 19, 2009.
Launching in two phases, JetLite’s extensive domestic network will be available for sale under the Jet Airways’ code (9W) for tickets purchased in all international points across the globe enabling overseas passengers travelling to India, lower fares to enjoy, through baggage check-in and frequent flyer benefits.
The partnership will enable both carriers to boost online connectivity with a higher presence on global GDS screens, fully leveraging the power of global distribution networks. This process was initiated with the migration of JetLite to Jet Airways’ reservations platform in September 2008.
According to Mr. Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, CEO, Jet Airways, “With the codeshare agreement between Jet Airways and JetLite, passengers will enjoy unbeatable connectivity between India and several international destinations”.
