Jet Airways launches direct daily service between Jaipur and Chandigarh

New service to strengthen domestic connectivity between Emerging and Metro cities and provide guests with additional choice.

Jet Airways, India’s full service, premier international airline, launched a new daily direct flight between Chandigarh and Jaipur, further expanding its connectivity across northern India. The new service is part of the airline’s approach to introduce direct flights between new city pairs connecting major cities with emerging metros across India, providing guests with hassle free travel solutions.

Ahead of the launch of its inaugural service from the Jaipur Airport, the airline lit a symbolic lamp to mark the occasion. The airport check in counters looked resplendent festooned with colour-coded balloons for this auspicious occasion.

Senior Jet officials handed over the first boarding pass to Mr. V P Singh Badnore, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab, who travelled on the first flight to Chandigarh. The airline staff also felicitated other guests with sweets and floral presentations.

Subsequently, the new flight – 9W 2262, departed from Jaipur at 1405 hrs. with a full complement of guests to arrive in Chandigarh at 1535 hrs. On the return leg, the flight 9W 2163 departed from Chandigarh at 1610 hrs. to arrive in Jaipur at 1740 hrs.

Jaipur – Rajasthan’s capital also known as the ‘Pink city’, is a major tourist hotspot and serves as a gateway to other tourist destinations in Rajasthan such as Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur and Mount Abu. Popular attractions include the Hawa Mahal, Jal Mahal, City Palace, Amer Fort, Jantar Mantar, Nahargarh Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Birla Mandir, Sanganeri Gate and the Jaipur Zoo.

Chandigarh – the capital of Punjab and Haryana, is globally identified as an emerging outsourcing and IT services destination. Apart from being an administrative and business hub, the city also has several popular tourist attractions such as Sukhna Lake, Rock Garden and Rose Garden.

Jet Airways will deploy an ATR 72 aircraft on this route, offering guests its famed and award-winning in-flight product and service mix comprising meals that are regional favorites.

Jet Airways also introduced direct, non-stop flights between Madurai and Mumbai, as well as Bagdogra and Mumbai.
