Introducing The Standard, Hua Hin

With a colorful collection of 199 rooms, suites, and villas, ranging from Standard King’s to private pool villas, visitors can also enjoy an enticing range of food & beverage venues.

Regarded as the best resort hotel in Southeast Asia and the 35th best place to stay in the world in the prestigious Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2022, The Standard, Hua Hin is the brand’s first seaside retreat in Thailand, bringing a fresh, contemporary, mid-century design, nestled in a lush landscape and tropical environment on Hua Hin’s most famous beach strip.

Since making its Thai debut in Hua Hin at the end of 2021 and situated a three-and-a-half- hour highway drive from Bangkok, The Standard, Hua Hin is a breath of fresh air. With a colorful collection of 199 rooms, suites, and villas, ranging from Standard King’s to private pool villas, visitors can also enjoy an enticing range of food & beverage venues. The resort also offers one-of-a-kind culinary and cocktail experiences at four on-site restaurants and bars, seamlessly paired with an innovative spa program that melds the traditional with the alternative.

Built on the site of the first residential property to ever be constructed along Hua Hin’s beach, the resort achieves seamless design continuity between the area’s rich history and the brand’s own design roots. The design, overseen by Chief Design Officer, Verena Haller and the Standard’s in-house design team and in partnership with Onion Architects, Studio Freehand and Shelly Kwok Design, pays homage to the Standard’s first waterfront hotel, The Standard Spa, Miami Beach. At the heart of the development lies the carefully restored Heritage House, a period structure that follows the area’s traditional vernacular architecture, reinvented as a Thai izakaya restaurant and cocktail bar, Praça. This careful pairing of Hua Hin’s old-world charm with an international sensibility creates an incredible juxtaposition of modern and historic, architectural, and organic, local and outward-looking.

Dining In Style
As guests stroll through the garden, they are invited to The Juice Café, which offers a selection of coffees, fresh pressed juices, smoothies, elixirs and freshly baked treats. The cafe’s terrace is ideal for early risers to sit and enjoy their perfectly made cappuccino and prepare for the day. The Juice Café also has a strong connection with the local community and provides an alternative area for in-house guests who are need of relaxation and a refresh.

Open all day, Lido Restaurant is The Standard Hua Hin’s Italian signature restaurant with year-round al fresco dining that serves lunch and dinner a la carte. For lunch, the restaurant projects a feel-good and uplifting atmosphere to gather and indulge with friends and family before transforming into a sunset intimate culinary experience with a carefully crafted menu centered around grilled meats, seafood, fresh pastas and homemade pizzas. Alongside the menu also sits a thoughtfully curated list of international and refreshing wines and a wide variety of house cocktails.

Adding some flavor into the day, the cool and casual Lido Bar offers a menu of refreshing cocktails, American style poolside bites and light Thai dishes for guests to enjoy whilst they swim, sun and lounge. With a range of beverages to suit all tastes, the delicious menu features options from the All Day Frosé with dry rosé, Aperol, Lillet rosé and peach, to the Maraschino Mystery, with gin, maraschino liquer, raspberry, and lemon.

The resort’s stylish beach bar and restaurant, Praça, savors the sound of the sea breeze, in the impeccably restored Heritage House. Serving traditional Thai family style dishes paired with craft cocktails on an idyllic beachfront location, it is the ideal spot for an intimate atmosphere with modern dishes that highlight generation-old recipes and ingredients indigenous to the area. Guests can also spice up the evening under the stars and enjoy the Born To Rum cocktail with white rum, banana, coconut milk, Kafir leaf and lime juice or turn into the No More Mr.Rice Guy with Jameson, roasted price and lemongrass.

Every weekend at sunset, the chic Lido Bar will host a lineup of resident DJs, with Standard Sounds and guest performers including Thailand’s top DJs for a series of seafront sessions. With a laid-back ambience, hotel guests, international visitors and locals can relax on plush sofas, cool off in the pool, or lounge on the lawn alongside soulful sets and refreshing, delicious cocktails. By the mid-1920s, it became the chosen holiday retreat for the nobility. With time, the sleepy fishing village has transformed into a popular seaside destination without losing its old-world charm.
