InterContinental Huizhou Resort is the new member of the Green Globe Program

Set to open in the 2nd quarter of 2009, InterContinental Huizhou Resort is the latest property in the pipeline managed by InterContinental Hotel Group in Guangdong Province.  Yet to open, the Resort has already gained the important membership due to its eco-friendly policy in the Green Globe Program. “We are excited to be part of the program, as we believe that it is a compelling factor to our green policy” says Mr. Enzo Di Mambro InterContinental Huizhou Resort’s General Manager. “We are very proud to be the first resort still on a pre-opening stage that is already been accepted as member of the Green Globe Program and this will certainly be a fundamental step in our mission to deliver outstanding services”.

The Green Globe Program is developed by EC3 Global, an internationally recognized environmental advisory group partner of The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), which protects and enhances the economic and social integrity of companies committed to the environment protection. InterContinental Huizhou Resort is aptly implementing procedures and facilities to ensure energy saving, recycling, water conversation and uses environmentally friendly materials all over the Resort perimeter where an extensive collection of environmentally-friendly amenities is displayed in each of the 220 guestrooms and villas.

Essential oils and in-room products are daily refilled in PDPE dispenser to eliminate plastic waste of small packaging as well as the production of liquids is done locally, with a consequential reduction of carbon imprint by transport.
