InsideAsia Tours prepares for the return of travel to Vietnam

Having closed its borders to the world in March 2020, InsideAsia Tours is thrilled to see the country is taking steps forward to begin welcoming travelers to the destination once again.

BROOMFIELD, CO – Southeast Asia specialist InsideAsia Tours is gearing up for more business as Vietnam, one of the award-winning tour operator’s main destinations, announced plans to lift travel restrictions and re-open its borders to international tourism starting as early as March 15, 2022. Having closed its borders to the world in March 2020, InsideAsia Tours is thrilled to see the country is taking steps forward to begin welcoming travelers to the destination once again.

As a specialist tour operator, we have been looking forward to this news for such a long time, along with our customers and partners on the ground,” said InsideAsia Tours’ parent company, Inside Travel Group Vice President of Marketing, Americas, Jeff Krevitt. “To be expected, Vietnam will still have a few requirements for international visitors in terms of post-arrival PCR tests and proof of vaccination, but it is certainly a move in the right direction,” added Krevitt.

Vietnam’s Initial entry requirements are:

  • Clients over 12 years old must be fully vaccinated with a vaccine passport, and must have received their most recent dose no less than 14 days and no more than 6 months prior to the date of departure.
  • Clients over 2 years old must have proof of a negative PCR test 72 hours prior to arrival in Vietnam.
  • Upon arrival, clients will need to get an antigen test and isolate at a hotel for 24 hours while waiting on the results. As soon as a negative result is received, clients are free to travel around Vietnam without limitation.
  • Clients must have travel insurance with COVID-19 cover of at least $10,000.
  • Clients must have the Vietnam track & trace app installed on their phone, which should be kept on throughout the duration of their time in the destination.

Vietnam’s announcement follows recent suggestions from Malaysia about possible opening in March, gradual opening of Singapore, the already open borders of Cambodia, and a phased opening of Laos and Thailand.

This is fantastic news for the region. We are still waiting for international airlines to catch up, but we know that there are many people that can’t wait to head over to Vietnam and experience this amazing country for themselves.” Krevitt added, “This is a big piece of the Southeast Asia jigsaw puzzle, and the picture for travel is finally looking more promising than ever.”

InsideAsia Tours has been tailoring travel to Vietnam since 2013 and has recently launched a brand new website featuring new destinations with a handful of new itineraries for post-pandemic travel.
