Information Technology Division reorganized at Marriott Asia Pacific

Recent organizational changes took place recently at Marriott International Asia Pacific to better take into account the strong growth of the group in the region.

HONG KONG – Given the continued expansion of the nine Marriott International Hotel Brands operating in Asia Pacific, the Regional Information Technology Department “Information Resources” (IR) has recently restructured its leadership team to better support technology operations and construction planning. As of January 1, 2013, the IR Organization is operating three dedicated divisions with new leadership as outlined below.

The IT Operations division will work closely with Property Owners and Hotel Operations to successfully open new hotels and provide ongoing technology guidance for hotels and country specific vendors.

Ashish Kale has been promoted to Senior Regional Director IR India, South East Asia and Pacific and will lead the IT Operations division forIndia, South East Asia and Pacific for all Marriott International brands including The Ritz-Carlton Hotels. Ashish has been with Marriott for 12 years.

Kelvin Meng has been promoted to Senior Regional Director IR China and Korea and will lead the IT Operations division for China and Korea for all Marriott International brands including The Ritz-Carlton Hotels supporting the Regional IR Operations. Kelvin has been with Marriott for nine years.

The Core Technology Management Services division will oversee the management of Marriott’s AP infrastructure, products, technologies, support and region-wide vendors.

Egbert Veldman has been promoted to Senior Director, IR Core Technology and will lead all activities for the Core Technology Management Services division. Egbert has been with Marriott for 15 years.

The Hotel Technology Infrastructure and Construction Guidance division will work closely with Owners, Consultants, Hotel Construction project managers to provide guidance on the hotel technology build and selection.

Bryan Tran has been promoted to Director IR Hotel Technology Infrastructure and will lead the Hotel Technology Infrastructure and Construction Guidance division.  Bryan has been with Marriott for six years.

With this new leadership structure, Information Resources will be better positioned to approve technology locally for the business operation, reduce the overall owner investment for IT services and localize project management.

This new leadership team will continue to report to Martin Bookallil, Vice President of Information Resources for Asia Pacific.
