Travel industry’s leaders will be speaking at ASTA’s upcoming International Destination Expo-Asia in Jeju, Republic of Korea (March 25-29,2007), imparting their years of industry experience and bringing their perspective to bear on such subjects as travel trends and technology issues facing the industry.

“This is the only travel industry show that brings together travel agents and international destination suppliers in such a personal setting, and to be able to add to that experience the chance to hear from some of the industry’s top presenters makes this an event not to be missed,” said ASTA president and CEO Cheryl C. Hudak, CTC.

Those speaking are Peter de Jong, president and CEO, PATA; Fred Miller, CTC, vice president/global sales, Marriott International; Chris Kroeger, CTC, senior vice president, Sabre Travel Network, North America; Alice McQuade director, travel agency sales & marketing, Intercontinental Hotels Group; and Cheryl C. Hudak, CTC, president and CEO, ASTA. Also speaking are Kim Jong-Min, president, Korea Tourism Organization and Kim Tae Hwan, governor of the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.

Among the topics to be covered are:

Marriott, a World of Opportunities. Fred Miller, CTC will discuss Marriott’s growth in the Asia Pacific region and the outlook for Marriott, highlighting the rising trends in the travel industry.

The Power of You. Chris Kroeger, CTC will explain how the combined power of the right travel products, technology and agents themselves can make all the difference.

Travel Agents Fighting Back. In her discussion, Alice O. McQuade will focus on travel agents who are adopting new technology and new business models to, not only survive, but prosper in today’s trading environment and how InterContinental Hotels Group is adapting as well.
