Under-privileged children in two Nairobi schools are to benefit from a charitable tie-up between Dubai`s Indian High School (IHS) and British Airways. The partnership will see 40 of the airline`s computers sent to two Kenyan schools, adopted by IHS under the patronage of the Duke of Edinburgh Programme, to aid the teaching of Information Technology.

Eid is a charitable celebration following the Holy Month of Ramadan and it`s apt that this agreement was struck at this time to help less fortunate students beyond these shores – pupils in Kenya – and continue our support for a modern education, said Pushpa Bhatia, Principal, IHS.

British Airways says the charity tie-up is the first step in a heightened community relations campaign the airline is instigating throughout the region.

We want to get closer to the communities we serve and assist them where possible in achieving their own charitable goals, said Paul Starrs, British Airways` Commercial Manager for the Middle East and Pakistan.
