India to host International Conference on Travel Technology

The Association of Tourism Trade Organisations, India (ATTOI), is organising an International Conference on Travel Technology (ICTT) during June 7 – 9, 2013 at Kovalam.

The Association of Tourism Trade Organisations, India (ATTOI), is organising an International Conference on Travel Technology (ICTT) during June 7 – 9, 2013 at Kovalam. The conference aims at preparing the travel and tourism partners in India and neighbouring countries to use the resources available online to drive business, get inputs in adapting to the changing technology and acquiring skills to beat the competition.

The conference is targeted at Tour Operators, Hotels, Resorts, SEO companies, Software companies, social media marketing companies, media, and active users of social media. The idea behind this event is to equip the tourism fraternity with the latest in technology and innovations that is happening over the web space, travel software, mobile applications and the turnaround of marketing and sales trends.

“The low tourist arrivals from the inbound source markets due to economic slow down can be resolved by expanding the markets and the distribution channels by using Internet marketing and social media tools. This is the first of its kind International Conference to explore the opportunities and to further expand online presence of India Tourism to attract more tourists”.

Eminent speakers on social media from around the world confirmed their participation in the event as speakers and tour operators and hotels from India and neighbouring countries have registered as delegates to attend the conference. Hotels in Kovalam has offered free stay for Tour Operators registering as delegates for ICTT.

Selina Power, a social media specialist and commentator from Australia will speak on ‘How travellers use social media and how travel business need to respond?’ and ‘Social media’s relevance and its impact on consumer behaviour.’ Australian social media speaker Adam Franklin will speak on ‘Inbound marketing – the cost-effective way of marketing’ and ‘Blogging – an inexpensive medium to generate leads and add value to your websites.’

Sheila Scarborough, writer and speaker from the US, will speak on ‘Online reputation management – art of listening and responding’ and ‘Changing technology and marketing trends for the future in tourism’. Chad Wiebesick from the US will delve upon ‘Social media – opportunities and challenges in tourism marketing’ and ‘Organic search or PPC or both – what’s the way out?’ Social networking entrepreneur Philip Calvert from the UK will deal with the topic ‘How to leverage your networking on LinkedIn: Powerful and proven strategies for travel professionals’.
