Hotel Indigo Lijiang Ancient Town wins Best Design Hotel

LIJIANG, China – Hotel Indigo Lijiang Ancient Town has won the “Best Design Hotel” in the 2014 China Travel Awards. The hotel combined privacy, delicate environment, naturally welcoming atmosphere and the Tea & Horse Caravan Trail culture, it is an inviting space where guests can experience the best of the past and present.
 

Best Design Hotels ‘China Travel Awards’ was held by China travel magazine Travel+. It is a large-scale hotel industry evaluation which depends on the online voting, expert review and readers’ experience. The awards list is an authoritative reference for travellers. With multitudinous high-end hotels vying for the awards, Hotel Indigo Lijiang Ancient Town collected the award on November 6 in Shanghai.
 

Hotel Indigo Lijiang Ancient Town is stunningly placed at the south of Lijiang Ancient Town, also known as Dayan Ancient Town. The hotel design is inspired by contemporary art intertwined with distinctive local elements. The hotel is styled as a modern ‘Post House’ along the ancient Tea-Horse Trail that linked Yunnan and Tibet and saw Lijiang become an important trading hub. The fresh design is infused with Naxi and Tibetan ethnic motifs and horse caravan references. Further design inspiration comes from the natural splendor of the surrounding landscapes, particularly the abundance of flowers and the permanently snow-capped Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
