Hotel Clarks Shiraz leads to way in India to improve hygiene standards with Check Safety First

Demanding temperatures mean food spoilage and contamination are still major challenges for many hotels in India.

Hotel Clarks Shiraz, a luxury five star hotel located in Agra, is the first to sign up to Check Safety First’s risk management system E-Cristal. This is just weeks after the independent health and safety company announced its venture into India, with the aim of helping to improve hygiene standards in the country’s flourishing travel and hospitality sector.

Demanding temperatures mean food spoilage and contamination are still major challenges for many hotels in India. The upcoming Food and Safety Standards Act in 2013 is a call to action for hotels to ensure they are doing everything they can to remain compliant. By signing up to E-Cristal, Hotel Clarks Shiraz has shown its commitment to keeping up with the latest legislation, improving food and water hygiene standards

Debasish Bhowmik, senior vice president of Hotel Clarks Shiraz, explained: “We are impressed with Check Safety First’s wealth of experience and plan to draw upon the company’s expertise to maintain a high standard of hygiene. We are committed to providing the highest quality of service to our guests and hygiene must be central to this.”

Mark Harrington, CEO at Check Safety First, said: “Our partnership with Hotel Clarks Shiraz is a huge opportunity to showcase what we already do across the world. It is exciting to work with an establishment so committed to improving standards. This first contract win is a huge step for the company, as India is a rapidly growing travel market with plenty of opportunities moving forward.”
