Hong Kong Disneyland Resort celebration of Sales Excellence 2013

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort recognized the sterling contribution its valued trade partners made in 2013 at its annual Celebration of Sales Excellence event on March 28.

HONG KONG – Employing Disney’s signature creativity, this year’s Celebration was held for the first time at Adventureland. The event featured an exclusive show for the travel trade, helping enhance their understanding of the Resort’s culture while drumming up excitement for further adventures in their journey with the Resort ahead.
 
The highlight of the evening’s program was the presentation of 26 awards to the top performing travel agency partners. While the top 20 travel trade partners received the Sales Excellence Awards, five trade partners received the Sales AdvancEAR Awards in recognition of their efforts in spreading the Disney magic in the past year. The greatest honor of the Celebration, the Top Sales AchievEAR of the Year Award, was bestowed on Shenzhen Sightseeing Company Limited.
 
The Resort and its valued trade partners have experienced numerous adventures hand-in-hand as we explored many promising business opportunities along the way,” said Terruce Wang, Vice President, Sales and Distribution Marketing, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. “Our travel trade partners have provided unstinting support, helping us achieve record results in 2013. It is therefore an honor indeed to recognize our very important partners at the annual Celebration of Sales Excellence.
 
Having demonstrated business creativity, sales innovation and drive in exploring new business opportunities throughout the years as the Resort’s close partner, Shenzhen Sightseeing Company Limited went the extra mile last year by organizing large-scale mall shows, where consumers were given a taste of Disney’s entertainment offerings. An array of Hong Kong Disneyland-themed products was also introduced on site, and strong business results were delivered.

Every year, the Resort’s Sales and Distribution Marketing team creates an extraordinary recognition event infused with Disney Difference for Celebration of Sales Excellence. At this year’s Celebration, the elaborate setting and innovative event lineup combined to immerse guests in an exotic and adventurous ambience. The queuing area outside Theater in the Wild was creatively transformed to serve as a cocktail zone for guests to enjoy drinks before the start of the show. Themed accessories were given out to heighten the mood. Titled “Adventures Behind the Scenes”, the award show that followed was spiced up with storytelling performances in between award presentations, while trade partners were invited to become part of the show by donning costumes and participating on stage.
 
We brought the theme of ‘Adventures Behind the Scenes’ memorably to life by making our trade partners players in this adventure. Our partners were invited to attend rehearsals before taking part in the stage show. Their participation have not only delivered wonderful surprises to every guest in the theater, but also enhanced the trade’s overall understanding of our brand,” said Wang. “The theme of this year’s Celebration was also in line with the new hotel in the Resort’s plan, which will offer guests an immersive and uniquely Disney resort- style experience that is dedicated to the spirit of exploration and celebrates exotic locations from around the world. Slated to open by early 2017, this new hotel will increase the total number of hotel rooms in the Resort by 75% to 1,750. Also in the pipeline are other initiatives and attractions including the launch of a brand new nighttime spectacular called ’Disney Paint the Night‘ later this year, the Resort’s 10th Anniversary celebration offerings in 2015 and a new themed area based on Marvel’s Iron Man franchise in late 2016. With the exciting plan ahead, we look forward to continuing the magical journey with the travel trade.” 
 
Following the awards ceremony, event guests returned to the queuing area of Theater in the Wild, which was further transformed for a gala dinner, for the first time since the Resort’s opening. While guests enjoyed an explosion of flavors from the international cuisines on offer, the Cast continued entertaining guests, helping enhance the atmosphere and making it a truly memorable evening.
 
The success of Celebration of Sales Excellence 2013 stands as a testament of the Resort’s capability in hosting large-scale business events.
