Amadeus travel agents worldwide can now book seats on Hong Kong’s dedicated low-cost airline.

BANGKOK, Thailand – HK Express, Hong Kong’s dedicated low-cost carrier (LCC), has signed an agreement with Amadeus to distribute its fares and schedules through Amadeus’ global network of travel agents.

HK Express is expanding aggressively to give our Guests an affordable, reliable option from our base in Hong Kong. We believe in a multi-channel distribution policy, allowing Guests who wish to book through the travel agent community the ability to do so. We’re delighted to work with a partner like Amadeus to help us increase our reach worldwide,” said Luke Lovegrove, Commercial Director, HK Express.

HK Express today flies to 20 destinations across Asia Pacific including cities in Japan, Korea, Thailand and China. The airline plans to increase their fleet of modern Airbus aircraft from 13 to 50 by 2018. With this agreement, HK Express joins the ranks of more than 480 other airlines that are bookable via the Amadeus system.

Hazem Hussein, Executive Vice President, Airline Commercial, Amadeus Asia Pacific, added, “HK Express is an ambitious and forward-thinking airline, and we are very pleased that they have selected Amadeus to take their growth to the next level. This partnership will allow the airline to distribute their affordable fares to more travellers than before, and proves the value Amadeus delivers as a global distribution and technology partner to low cost carriers in Asia and around the world. For Amadeus, this is one step among many to deliver more budget air travel options via our travel agency network.”

Today, over 80 low-cost and hybrid carriers are bookable in the Amadeus system while over 80 per cent of Amadeus bookings worldwide are made on airlines with which Amadeus has a content agreement.
