The Micronesia Chapter of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) held their 4th Quarter meeting in Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia, on December 3 and 4. Twenty members of the Micronesia Chapter were present, representing the islands of Guam, the CNMI, Palau, Yap, Pohnpei, and Chuuk.
The marketing, education and executive committee meetings were held the afternoon of December 3rd and the general membership meeting was held the morning of December 4th. All took place at the Truk Stop Hotel Conference Room. The Chuuk Visitors Bureau served as host for this 4th quarterly meeting.
The members discussed issues pertaining to tourism in Micronesia, including the new Magnificent Micronesia brochures that distribution to all Micronesia NTOs/STOs will be completed soon. A major topic of discussion was the Micronesia Product website, being developed and offered to the PATA Micronesia Chapter compliments of Pacific Business Center. The new site will feature local products from each island member of the PATA Micronesia Chapter, including Guam.
The next PATA Micronesia Chapter meeting will be held in Pohnpei from March 28 – April 1, 2008.
