The Greek Minister of Transportation & Communications Mr. Mihalis Liapis and his Korean counterpart Mr. Yongsup Lee signed a Memorandum of Understanding linking Athens and Seoul with a direct air service. The signing ceremony took palce during Mr. Liapis’ visit in Seoul.

The flights will be three on a weekly basis and will start in the coming months, probably from January of 2008. Korean Air’s executives will visit Athens for the final details. During their meeting the two ministers also discussed a closer cooperation in railroad transportation and decided to conduct a by-part committee to supervise the modern monitor and traffic systems, the telecommunication networks and the internet.

Mr. Liapis also visited the Operational Centre of the Korean Railroad – KORAIL where he had the chance to see the facilities.
