Hotel 1898 opens new panoramic terrace in Barcelona
Great Hotels Premium Collection member, Hotel 1898 in Barcelona, Spain has opened a new chill-out terrace offering exceptional 360° city skyline views called The Isabela Terrace. Located on the top floor of the historical hotel on the famous La Rambla Street, the terrace is open to guests and members of the public from 11am – 2am. Visitors can enjoy drinks, dinner and deluxe tapas accompanied by colonial decor and chill-out music.

Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve in South Africa reveals new look Earth Lodge
Great Hotels Luxury Collection member, Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve in the Kruger National Park, South Africa has refurbished its award-winning Earth Lodge. The interior design of the Earth Lodge creates a unique, nature-inspired African experience and combines luxurious metallic colours with sophisticated furnishings and rough, natural, textured walls. With quirky tables made from a mass of branches, tables made from salvaged trees, huge chandeliers and shimmers of gold, bronze and silver, each of the 12 ultra-luxurious suites glows with warmth. The lounge has also been revamped to create a wonderful venue where high tea is served whilst watching the animals drinking at the waterhole. The evening bar has also been expanded to include a cosy lounge and library – perfect for those guests who prefer quiet and solitude.

Hotel Metropole in Belgium renovates rooms and bathrooms
Great Hotels Luxury Collection member, Hotel Metropole in Brussels, Belgium has announced the renovation of its third floor rooms and the opening of two new suites. Overlooking the fantastic views of La Place de Brouckere, the luxuriously renovated guestrooms take inspiration from 1940’s design and are decorated in rich emerald greens and silvers with accents of orange maintaining the traditional yet classic European theme running through the hotel. Suite 402 has been renovated to include a spacious sitting and study area adjoining a comfortable bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Suite 419 overlooks La Place de Brouckere and offers a spacious sitting and dining room with a stunning Osborne and Little wallpaper mural, a bathroom, separate bedroom and en-suite shower room. Both suites feature Italian fabrics in rich reds, burnt orange and golds. The coming weeks will see the opening of another three new suites, all individually designed.

La Sultana In Morocco to open rooftop kitchen for cookery classes
La Sultana in Marrakech, Morocco, a member of the Great Hotels Luxury Collection, is to open a new rooftop kitchen where Moroccan cookery classes will be offered. The hotel will share its expertise in Moroccan cuisine by explaining the basics of Moroccan cooking methods. Participants will prepare a variety of dishes including Moroccan salads, vegetable dishes, tagines and desserts which can then be enjoyed for lunch or dinner.

St James’s Hotel & Club in England introduces a touch of the Chelsea Flower Show
Great Hotels Luxury Collection member, St James’s Hotel & Club in London, UK invites guests to experience their first ever flower garden created by renowned British florist Jane Packer. Enjoy the decorations and afternoon tea or a floral cocktail in the bar. The flower garden will be unveiled on Saturday 21 May and will be open until Monday 30th May. Jane Packer floristry master classes followed by a three-course Michelin starred lunch at the hotel’s ‘Seven Park Place’ run by William Drabble. The hotel also offers cocktail master classes as well as cheese- and wine-pairing master classes.

Surf the web as Le Meridien Ra in Spain opens its ibeach club
Le Meridien Ra Beach Hotel & Spa has announced the opening of its beach club with a variety of VIP extras available to guests. iPads are available to guests to use whilst sunbathing and guests can use the free wi-fi to book massage services, visits to local wineries or even to select cocktails which are mixed and served at your sunbed.
