GoAir inaugurates evening flights from Srinagar

GoAir India introduces to its customers a new evening flight from Srinagar to Mumbai and Delhi in order to keep up with the demand from tourists, and by increasing the flights will aid in keeping the prices competitive and ensure that Srinagar remains accessible to both business and leisure travellers.

SRINAGAR, India – GoAir will offer late evening/night operations to Srinagar. The carrier flagged off on June 16 the first flight of this schedule at the Srinagar International Airport in the presence of Mehbooba Mufti, Hon. Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir and GoAir CEO, Wolfgang Prock-Schauer.

The newly-introduced evening flights from the carrier were announced soon after the IAF, AAI, and DGCA gave their nod to evening and night flights from private airlines at the Srinagar International Airport. The offering will help keep up with the demand from tourists, and the increase in flights will aid in keeping the prices competitive and ensure that Srinagar remains accessible to both business and leisure travellers.

Commenting on the milestone, GoAir CEO, Wolfgang Prock-Schauer said, “Preempting and understanding the travel needs of different markets is what has made GoAir one of the country’s preferred airlines. We are pleased to facilitate better connectivity to Srinagar.”

Increasing air connectivity to Srinagar will also aid in the strengthening of business and trade ties with other states.

Hon. Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti, remarked, “With increased flight connectivity, we are optimistic and hope to see increased commercial and recreational travel in the city. We are pleased that GoAir has taken this step, and are sure that we will see a positive impact on tourism.”

Effective June 15, 2016, the GoAir flight G8-228 and G8-229 will take off from Srinagar at 18:40 pm to Mumbai and Delhi, respectively. Tickets for the flights are now open and can be booked through the company website or online travel portals, GoAir call centre, airport ticketing offices, through travel agents, and the GoAir app that is available on both Apple iOS and Google Android.
